Government Accountability Office

The Government Accountability Office or GAO, often called the "congressional watchdog,” is an independent, non-partisan agency that works for Congress. GAO examines how taxpayer dollars are spent and provides Congress and federal agencies with objective, non-partisan, fact-based information to help the government save money and work more efficiently.

Jim Dalkin is a Director in GAO's Financial Management and Assurance team. He oversees FDIC and SEC financial statement audits and related financial management issues, Export-Import Bank financial management issues, internal control and auditing standards, and work involving the accounting and auditing profession.
